Delta Plane Crashes Toronto Pearson

On February 17, 2025, Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crash-landed at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, en route from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, overturned upon landing, coming to rest upside down on the runway. All 80 individuals on board—76 passengers and four crew members—survived the incident, though 18 were injured; none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Passenger John Nelson recounted that the landing seemed routine until the aircraft made a hard impact, skidded sideways, and ultimately flipped over. He described the immediate aftermath as "mass chaos," with passengers hanging upside down before evacuating.

At the time of the accident, Toronto was experiencing strong winds and drifting snow. However, airport officials noted that the runway was dry and there were no significant crosswind conditions during the landing. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, with both Canadian and U.S. transportation safety authorities collaborating.

This incident is among several recent aviation accidents in North America, including a mid-air collision near Washington, D.C., and crashes in Alaska and Philadelphia.
