  • Current Status: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified this as a Class I recall, indicating a situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death. 

2. TreeHouse Foods Frozen Waffle and Pancake Products Recall:

  • Date Issued: Initial recall on October 18, 2024; expanded on October 22, 2024
  • Reason: Potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious infections.
  • Details: The expanded recall includes all frozen toaster waffles, Belgian waffles, and pancake products produced at the company's facility in Brantford, Ontario. These items were distributed across the United States and Canada under various brand names, including those sold at major retailers such as Walmart, Whole Foods, Target, and Kroger. 
  • Current Status: Consumers are advised to check their freezers for the affected products and either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
