William Byron won the 2025 Daytona 500

William Byron won the 2025 Daytona 500, securing his second consecutive victory in this prestigious race. Byron, driving the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, managed to avoid multiple late-race crashes and emerged victorious after an overtime finish. This achievement makes him the first back-to-back winner since Denny Hamlin in 2019 and 2020. Hendrick Motorsports also celebrated its record-breaking 10th Daytona 500 win.

The race was marked by several weather delays totaling over three and a half hours, and multiple significant wrecks that eliminated notable drivers from contention. Byron's teammate and vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports, Jeff Gordon, expressed pride in Byron's success, noting that Byron is now the youngest driver to win multiple Daytona 500s.

Notably, President Donald Trump attended the event, leading drivers on two laps around the track in his armored limousine, "The Beast." Byron now aims to continue his successful season with a focus on the championship race in Phoenix.
