USC's JuJu Watkins carried off with injury

USC women's basketball star JuJu Watkins sustained a right knee injury during the first quarter of the NCAA Tournament second-round game against Mississippi State on March 24, 2025. The injury occurred as Watkins drove to the basket and her knee bent awkwardly, causing her to collapse on the court. She was carried off by medical staff and did not return to the game. ​

Prior to this incident, Watkins had experienced minor injuries in USC's first-round victory over UNC Greensboro, including a jammed left hand and a left leg issue. Despite these, she had reassured fans about her condition. ​
